arthritis, making it the most common chronic
childhood disease.
Innovative research, development of new and
aggressive treatments and providing the highest
level of patient care are just a few of the reasons
why A Midsummer Night’s Run is supporting the
Department of Rheumatology through SickKids
Foundation.
The Hospital for Sick Children and the University of
Toronto Paediatric Rheumatology program is one of
the largest Paediatric Rheumatic Disease Units
in North America and one of the world's leading
centres for research, patient care and training in
paediatric rheumatic diseases. The Division of
Rheumatology at The Hospital for Sick Children
offers a comprehensive range of services for the
evaluation and treatment of children with paediatric
rheumatic diseases and has subspecialty clinics for
the following conditions:

Lupus
·
Juvenile Dermatomyositis
·
Morphea
·
Systemic-Onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Their mandate is to provide excellent clinical care,
undertake research studies into systemic
inflammatory disorders and inflammatory diseases of
the bones and joints in childhood, and train
physicians to become prominent leaders in the field
of Paediatric Rheumatology.
